Each month, one member of our team is asked to select an organization they’re passionate about to be an ADKcares recipient. This month’s charity was chosen by engineering coordinator, Lori Bott.
Why did you choose the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to be this month’s ADKcares recipient?
It has been said that cancer doesn’t discriminate, that it effects individuals from all walks of life regardless of age, economic status, gender, or race but I think we can all agree that it has a tendency to target the very best of our loved ones. I chose the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as my charity of choice because I am watching my favorite uncle fight leukemia. While I don’t know for certain what the future holds, I am hopeful that with treatment my uncle will beat his cancer and continue to be the amazing man I have been lucky to know and love. I am grateful that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is out there working tirelessly towards their mission of curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma & improving the quality of life of the patients and their families.
