Why did you choose the Community Hospice of Saratoga to be this month’s ADKcares recipient?
I chose the Community Hospice of Saratoga in memory of my late father, Jeffrey Hall, who we lost to pancreatic cancer in May of 2020. In general, a hospice’s philosophy is to focus on caring for terminally ill patients rather than curing them. This makes it possible for your loved one to live their remaining days in peace, dignity, and comfort true to their beliefs and wishes. As a family member of a terminally ill loved one, this can be a hard concept to grasp but with the support and guidance of the Community Hospice of Saratoga staff it makes navigating through such an emotional time more bearable.
